Intoxicating
Want to know what scent Michelle Obama wears? The answer, Love in White by Creed. Delish! If you have never had an opportunity to experience Creed, run quickly to get your hands on one of these intoxicating fragrances. Creed perfumes and colognes are one those things, and we all have them, that make us feel special. Scents may not get your heart racing, but for me they are truly a weakness. Like a new bag or pair shoes, scents can really make or break your spirit. I am a bit of a purist when it comes to colognes. In my book, one should never have more than two scents available to them at any given moment, having more makes for confusion and unrest. I, myself take it one step further by only ever having one scent for each season. For instance, this summer I am wearing organic lavender essential oil- it conjures up memories of my time in Provence. Why the restrictions? Simplicity. Live it! Learn it!

Aoi Kotsuhiroi Jewelry

If you know me, you know that I always tend to go for the unusual rather than the norm... Right? Well, on a recent browse through the blogosphere I came across this lovely designer by the name of Aoi Kotsuhiroi. Her work is magnificent, and that is putting it lightly. The pieces are truly surreal. Using mediums such as aquamarine, porcelain, silk, and human hair; Aoi creates unique art pieces that transform a necklace into a masterpiece. In a recent conversation with the designer I asked her where she drew the inspirations for her jewelry and she stated, "my inspiration is in clouds, literature, by discussing sometimes with spiders, by looking at the trees growing, by listening to a lot of music, by doing zazen, and in my dreams..." No matter the point of inspiration the treasures created by Aoi are without question, beyond style.
Bisou!
Revolutionnaire Profile: Diane Pernet
What can I say about the woman behind the shades? Diane Pernet is the original renaissance woman of fashion. She has done it all: fashion designer, journalist, editor, film producer, and that is just the beginning. Ms Pernet is also the blogger behind A Shaded View on Fashion, a site devoted to all things avant-garde and experimental, and the first stop on my morning blog routine. One could say is the queen of the fashion blog, reporting from around the world to bring "toxicomanes de la mode," like myself the future aesthetics and talents of the [fashion] industry. Vive la Diane Pernet!

Monsieur Galliano takes us back...
July 6, 2009: John Galliano, one the of most talented men in fashion showed his haute couture collection for the House of Dior. This collection recalled the days of when Monsieur Dior was at the helm of this great fashion institution, with classic silhouettes and the Bar jacket, a Dior essential. I can almost imagine the famed model Dovima walking through the salons of the Dior headquarters on the Avenue Montaigne.

Vive la Révolutionnaire!
Welcome! Bienvenue! Wilkommen! ようこそ! The Paris Haute Couture shows are well underway for the 2009 Autumn season, and in celebration I thought it best to post my first entry for this blog. Fashion has always been the GREAT love of my life. It always being present since I was a child when grandmother gave me my first Vogue Magazine at the age of four. Browsing the pages with her and learning names like Hubert de Givenchy, Christian Dior, and Yves Saint Laurent was a truly poignant moment that I will never forget. She taught me that style is something your are born with, not learned... This notion she learned from Diana Vreeland. The great woman I called Maw-Maw planted a seed that I do fear will never cease to exist. This blog is dedicated to the memory of my grandmother and all she instilled in me.
